Es científicamente el enfoque más desafiante a la tarea de la traducción automática, y en los últimos años se ha logrado un progreso significativo en él. Los autores introducen el paradigma general de la MT basada en el conocimiento, examinan desarrollos recientes importantes, lo comparan con otros enfoques y presentan una visión paradigmática de sus procesos componentes
